Clinicians, engineers, researchers and founders with a real healthcare problem or early idea. Come as an individual or a team. No coding required.
From problem to prototype. You'll leave with:
A simple working or clickable prototype, tested with other people.
A one-page explanation of the problem, the user, how the product works and how you will test it.
A 90-day plan, a short pitch and a route into the SurgeryLab.ai accelerator for the strongest ideas.

08:45–09:20
Share ideas and form teams. Give a short pitch, choose the strongest problems and form teams with the right mix of clinical, technical and practical experience.
09:20–10:20
Make sure the problem is worth solving. Work out who has the problem, what happens now, why it matters and what a useful solution would change.
10:20–11:05
Choose the simplest way to build it. Decide whether you need a mock-up, a no-code tool or an existing AI model, and agree what data and human checks are needed.
11:20–12:40
Build the first version. Map the main steps for the user and create a simple prototype with help from the mentors.
12:40–13:20
Working lunch: honest lessons from founders. Hear what helped, what went wrong and what they wish they had known before putting a clinical AI product into use.
13:20–14:35
Test it and improve it. Ask other people to try the prototype, find its biggest weakness and improve that before adding more features.
14:35–15:35
Work out what will make it credible. Set out the evidence, safety, data protection, regulation, costs and implementation work needed before real-world use.
15:50–17:30
Plan the next 90 days and pitch. Agree the next milestones, funding route and business model, then show the prototype and get feedback from the panel.

After the day
We review progress after 30 days and invite the strongest teams to discuss further support through the SurgeryLab.ai accelerator.

Do I need a technical background?
No. It's for complete beginners as well as people who already use AI. No coding required, just bring a laptop.
What does it cost?
£100 for the day, or £250 for all three days of the Clinical AI Skills Series.
Will materials be shared afterwards?
Yes. You'll leave with your prototype, a one-page summary and a 90-day plan, and we review progress after 30 days.
